Tailoring the Effects of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) in the Separation and Antifouling Performance of Thin-Film Composite Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Membrane

In this study, thin-film composite (TFC) polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes were synthesized by coating with titanium dioxide (TiO2)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution a dip method and cross-linked glutaraldehyde. Glutaraldehyde (GA) acted as cross-linking agent to improve the thermal chemical stability of thin film coating. The incorporation TiO2 in enhanced hydrophilicity membrane rejection dyes during filtration. layer nanoparticles on PVDF have mitigated fouling effects compared plain membrane. photocatalytic performance was studied at different loading for photodegradation (reactive blue (RB) methyl orange (MO)). results indicated that TiO2/PVA showed good reusability under UV irradiation. This study nearly 78% MO 47% RB removed using TFC work provides new vision fabrication polymeric an efficient wastewater treatment tool.
